The Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey is establishing a new Department of Mechanical Engineering to complement the existing departments of Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. These three departments have been existence since Bilkent University was formed in 1984 and have achieved outstanding reputation through their graduates and research accomplishments.

The new Mechanical Engineering Department is slated to enroll the first set of students for the Fall 2009 term. We anticipate a full complement of faculty positions and seek candidates at all ranks for positions starting Spring 2008 and later. Plans are underway to develop first-class research and education laboratories to enable the new faculty to immediately start and continue their research without interruption.

Bilkent University seeks candidates for faculty positions starting Spring 2008. We anticipate openings for several faculty appointments for individuals who are completing, or who have recently completed, a doctorate. In special cases, a senior faculty appointment may be possible. Faculty duties include teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, research, and supervision of theses. We will consider candidates with backgrounds and interests in all areas of electrical engineering and computer science.
