Film Screening: “Get Out,” Jordan Peele (2017), FB-309, 6PM September 26 (EN)

Bilkent Cinematics aims to bring film lovers together and create a community through film sessions and entertaining, thought provoking post-screening discussions. Each semester we host film screenings, all by great directors, which we hope provide insight and understanding into the themes, cinematographic elements, script, characters, dialogues, scenery and music. In doing this we want to promote the development of film appreciation at Bilkent University and create an academic community for all interested persons where they can experience their passion for film.

Bilkent Cinematics is back for another semester of screenings of works by acclaimed directors. We would like to invite you all to the screening of Jordan Peele’s Get out on Wednesday, September 26, 6 p.m., in FB 309.

Jordan Peele’s funny, scary, and provocative Get Out (2017), weaves its trenchant social critiques into a brilliantly effective and entertaining horror/comedy thrill ride. Time magazine film critic Stephanie Zacharek gives credit to Peele saying, “Peele succeeds where sometimes even more experienced filmmakers fail: He’s made an agile entertainment whose social and cultural observations are woven so tightly into the fabric that you’re laughing even as you’re thinking, and vice-versa.”

Everyone is welcome to join our film appreciation sessions. All Cinematics movies are shown in their original language with English subtitles, and snacks and refreshments are always served.
