Mobile Application Marathon, organized by Bilkent University, Bilkent Cyberpark and Bilkent University – TÜSİAD Information Society Forum, was held at Cyberpark on February 23-24.
The marathon was open to all junior, senior or master’s students in Turkey. 94 students applied. 46 students from Bilkent University, Ankara University, Abdullah Gül University, Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, Gazi University, Hacettepe University, Konya Technical University, Marmara University, METU and TED University participated in the marathon. Contestants are asked to develop a mobile application addressing transformation to information society in 30 hours.
Jury members were Asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin Angın (METU), Prof. Dr. Tolga K. Çapın (TED University), Asst. Prof. Dr. Hamdi Dibeklioğlu (Bilkent University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazlı İkizler Cinbiş (Hacettepe University), Prof. Dr. Refik Samet (Ankara University) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Uraz Yavanoğlu (Gazi University). The Red-Pill team formed by Bilkent CS students, Rumeysa Özaydın, Osman Burak İntişah, Ahmet Serdar Gürbüz, and Merve Kılıçarslan won the first place. The 3 Şilahşörler team from Marmara Univerity, the Bro’s team from TED University, the beef team from Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, the AGUCS team from Abdullah Gül University won the second, third, fourth and fifth places, respectively.
