————-
NK Ensemble is a new music ensemble that aims to develop a research platform for composers on the usage of particular traditional instruments in contemporary western music. Such emphasis on research as a basic objective for an ensemble may allude to intentions about internalized comprehensions for the attributes of the traditional elements and their
existence in today’s music composition in order to eventuate in unique aesthetical perspectives.

NK ensemble has been initiated upon composer Onur Türkmen and kemençe player Nermin Kaygusuz’s collaboration since 2000 and is affiliated with Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts – Composition Program.
