MATH Semineri: “Descent and vanishing in algebraic K-theory via group actions”, Akhil Mathew, University of Chicago, 18:40 14 Aralık (EN)

Dear Colleagues and Students,

You are cordially invited to the Topology Seminar organized by the Department of Mathematics.

Speaker: Akhil Mathew (University of Chicago)

“Descent and vanishing in algebraic K-theory via group actions”

Abstract: I will explain some descent and vanishing results in the algebraic K-theory of ring pectra, motivated by the redshift philosophy of Ausoni-Rognes. These results are all proved by considering group actions on stable $infty$-categories and their K-theory, as well as some tools coming from chromatic homotopy theory.
