Abstract: Recently, the seriousness of the threat of climate change has highlighted the concept of “green”. Green building and museum practices were created to bring this concept to life. Since museums consume additional resources and energy to maintain a constant temperature and humidity to preserve their collections, their effect on a sustainable environment is even more important than other buildings. Moreover, museums as trusted public institutions, have a mission to inform the public about environmental sustainability. I would like to present the concept of green museums and the possibility of their implementation in Turkey.
