Short Bio:
Eda Gürel, Ph.D, is an assistant professor teaching management, marketing, and economics-related courses and the Chair of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Bilkent University. Dr. Gürel is a department graduate and has her MSc in Tourism Marketing from the University of Surrey. She received her associate professorship in 2017 from the Higher Education Council in Turkey. Her Ph.D. thesis focuses on public relations in museums. Her research interests include experience economy, cultural capital and consumption, museums, tourism ethics, and entrepreneurship. She has published in the International Journal of Arts Management, Annals of Tourism Research, European Journal of Marketing, and the Journal of Business Ethics. She holds a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a system to create games and routes for cultural and natural heritage involving optimization.
