Tuition Fee

With the decision of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey on August 30, 2020, VAT (Value Added Tax) applied to educational services is dropped from 8% to 1% for the period of 01.09.2020 and 30.06.2021. Accordingly, Bilkent University 2020-21 Fall and Spring semesters tuition fees are updated as below:

Tuition fee for the 2020 – 2021 academic year (1% VAT included):
– Admitted before 2016 is 13,046 USD
– Admitted in or after 2016 is 13,560 USD

Those students who paid their tuition fees for the 2020-21 Fall semester before 01.09.2020 will be refunded for the extra amount that they paid. A further announcement regarding the refund process will be made in the last week of September.


The tuition fee for the 2020 – 2021 academic year (8% VAT is included):
– Admitted before 2016 is 13,950 USD
– Admitted in or after 2016 is 14,500 USD

The tuition fee can be paid in two equal installments by the due dates before the Fall and Spring semesters.

International tuition fees can be paid in Turkish Lira (TL) only within Turkey. If international students prefer to pay the tuition amount in Turkish Lira instead of USD, the USD effective exchange rate of the Central Bank of Turkey on date of payment will be used to calculate the TL amount.

Students may also wire transfer the tuition fee from their home country to the bank account provided below. Please note that students should have their full name written on the bank receipt and that this receipt needs to be submitted to the Registrar’s Office.

All students who are admitted to Bilkent University in accordance with the regulations stated in Article B) a) 1,2,3 or 5 of the Higher Education Council’s “Guidelines for Admission of Students From Abroad” are considered international students and are required to pay the international student tuition fees. In line with this regulation, students who are eligible to register at Bilkent University and had acquired Turkish citizenship at birth, but later renounced their citizenship status with the approval of Ministry of Internal Affairs are still considered international students even if they have the legal document which grants their previously acquired citizenship rights as stated in the citizenship law. These students will be required to pay tuition as international students.
