The Social Responsibility Center was established within the Dean of Students Office at the beginning of the 2005–2006 academic year for the purpose of coordinating voluntary activities conducted at Bilkent University and/or by its students. In this context, activities taking place under the management of the Dean of Students Office include the work of the student volunteer organization Social Awareness Projects; a civil society and social service internship for Bilkent students; a variety of charitable aid campaigns; and projects of the Unit for Handicapped Students.
