Prof. Emrah Özensoy, chair of the Department of Chemistry, has won the 2022 Sedat Simavi Foundation Science Award for his work “Unraveling Molecular Fingerprints of Catalytic Sulfur Poisoning at the Nanometer Scale with Near-Field Infrared Spectroscopy.”
The study was published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, the leading interdisciplinary scientific journal by the American Chemical Society (ACS).
The Sedat Simavi Award was established in 1977 by the Turkish Journalists Society. The award is named after the founder of the society and is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to areas in journalism, radio, television, cartoon, literature, social sciences, natural sciences, medical sciences and sports.
