Prof. Hilmi Volkan Demir, director of UNAM and a faculty member in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Physics departments, is one of the coauthors of a new, three-volume series.
The book is entitled “Understanding and Modeling Förster-type Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET)” and published by Springer.
A historical overview of Förster-type nonradiative energy transfer and a compilation of important progress in FRET research from Förster’s work up to the present, along with a summary of the current state of the field, are given in the first volume, “Introduction to FRET.” The second volume, “FRET From Single Donor to Single Acceptor and Assemblies of Acceptors,” presents a complete study of the generalized theory of Förster-type energy transfer in nanostructures with mixed dimensionality. The third volume, “FRET Applications,” offers information for both specialists and nonspecialists on how to use and analyze FRET in a wide range of applications.
