Bilkent University has been named as Turkey’s highest-ranked university in the newly released QS Top Universities Under 50 listing for 2015. Based on the latest QS World University Rankings, this ranking of universities less than 50 years old places Bilkent in the 51-60 band.
The QS Top Universities under 50 rankings are compiled by taking the top universities from the QS World University Rankings that have been founded or established in the last fifty years. The QS Top Universities Under 50 aims to highlight fast-developing young institutions making a rapid impact on the global ranking tables. It is designed, therefore, to highlight the performance of universities whose performances in teaching and research are increasingly impressive given their age and resources.
Two other Turkish universities join Bilkent in the top 100: Sabancı University (in the group 61-70) and Koç University (in the group 71-80).
Based on six performance indicators, the rankings are designed to assess universities in four areas:
research, teaching, employability and internationalization.
Academic reputation (40%)
Employer reputation (10%)
Student-to-faculty ratio (20%)
Citations per faculty (20%)
International faculty ratio (5%) & international student ratio (5%)
