Assoc. Prof. Tamer Uyar from UNAM-Institute of Materials Science & Nanotechnology received 2016 International Cyclodextrin Jozsef Szejtli Award.
The award is only presented to Young Scientist recognizing outstanding achievements in Cyclodextrin research and Dr. Uyar is the 2nd recipient of this award. Prof. Uyar has received this prestigious award (bronze plaquette and a monetary award) from Dr. Lajos Szente from CycloLab at 18th International Cyclodextrin Symposium, Gainesville, FL, USA.
Prof. Uyar has received this prestigious award for his pioneering role and outstanding contribution in the field of Cyclodextrin research by carrying out Electrospinning of polymer-free cyclodextrin nanofibers, functional electrospun nanofibers by cyclodextrins and cyclodextrin inclusion complexes. Prof. Uyar`s research group has shown that these cyclodextrin-based novel nanofibers have potential applications in healthcare, filtration technology, functional textiles, environmental, food, packaging, agriculture, etc.
